The government of the United States announced yesterday, Monday 25, procedures and rules for the resumption of the entry of visitors to the United States. The restrictions were imposed in early 2020 because of the new coronavirus pandemic and will be eased from November 8th. Let's jump to the new rules?
- Foreign tourists must present proof of vaccination against covid-19, in addition to a negative test performed no later than 72 hours before boarding (both for entry by air and land borders).
- Minors under 18 do NOT need to be vaccinated, but a negative test will be required 72 hours before for accompanied minors and 24 hours before for unaccompanied minors.
- The exception is for non-tourist foreign travelers (those who travel for work, study, in delegations or diplomatic missions) whose countries have not yet been able to implement massive vaccination programs, and who account for less than 10% of the vaccinated population: this traveler may be exempt from certain requirements, but still must have the complete vaccine cycle.
- Persons who have medical contraindications and who present allergic or adverse reactions to vaccines against covid-19 may also be exempted from the requirements, as long as they present specific documents and reports.
- The visa requirement will be maintained.
- The United States will admit visitors immunized with all vaccines accepted by the World Health Organization:
Pfizer/BioNTech Modern Oxford/AstraZeneca (including Vaxzevria and Covishield) Janssen SinoPharm CoronaVac
- The United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC, its acronym in English) also said it will accept certificates with interchangeability of vaccines - the cycle made with two doses of different immunizers.
