New Rollercoasters Opening in 2022

Category: Theme Parks

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay-Iron Gwazi

North America's tallest, fastest and steepest hybrid crocodile-inspired coaster will open in March of 2022. It will take riders from a 206-foot-tall peak into a 91-degree drop and reach speeds up to 76 miles per hour. It will also include a dozen airtime moments and three inversions over 4,075 feet of purple steel track. Rocky Mountain construction manufactured and restored the original elements of Gwazi onto the new Iron Gwazi roller coaster. Riders must meet the 48-inch height requirement.

SeaWorld-Ice Breaker

Opening in February of 2022 and named after the icy Arctic summits, this brand new roller coaster will feature four airtime filled launches, both forwards and backwards, including the steepest beyond vertical drop in Florida, a 93-foot-tall spike with a 100-degree angle. This is SeaWorld's first launch coaster and will be located across from Wild Artic and riders must meet the 48-inch height requirement. With the new addition of Ice Breaker, SeaWorld has announced a new partnership with the Alaska SeaLife Center. They are a dedicated research, rescue, education and rehabilitation facility.

Tron: Lightcycle Run

TRON Lightcycle Run will be located in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom, and guests will be able to board two-wheeled Lightcycles in an indoor/outdoor roller coaster with speeds of up to 59 miles per hour. It will be similar to Shanghai Disneyland’s TRON Lightcycle Power Run ride that debuted in 2016. This massive ride will take place inside a large building as well as under the lit canopy outside. The panels in the canopy will shift based on the lighting of the time of day, so you may get a totally different experience depending on what time you ride it!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is part of EPCOT’s big transformation and will be located in Future World as one of the longest indoor roller coasters ever built. The ride vehicles will have 360-degree movement and the story will follow the Guardians on a fun-filled adventure (and there will be a rockin’ mix tape!).

So, are you ready to book your adventure in 2022? Stay with iHome Resort and enjoy all the new rides!
